Did you know that Grant Hart, drummer of Husker Du, does not use the high-hat? The ride cymbal is his high-hat! Do a search on Husker Du live in London on youtube. It’s just weird. He uses the high-hat as a transition between songs. Pretty punk rock if you ask me! It probably allows him to sing more comfortably, too.
